Private Students Registration Scheme

Delivered via self-study and web-based resources, our Learning Management System allows you to enjoy a Apex Professional University education away from our campus. This makes them an ideal form of learning if you need to study alongside other commitments.

Private Students Registration allows you to get a university-level education without having to physically attend our campus. You’ll have access to all of the world-class teaching and support that Apex Professional University has to offer, but all of your lectures, tutorials and assessments will take place online.

Our Private Students Registration is built around flexibility – allowing you to plan your own learning at a time and a place that suits you.

Programs run for a fixed duration at certain points in the year. Some activities are scheduled – such as online meetings with your tutor – but otherwise you’re free to access and work through the video lectures, reading materials and other online activities at your convenience.

“Private Student” means a External Candidate interested in seeking admission to appear in the examination of any certificate or diploma or degree programme as an external student in accordance with section 2(1)(j) and 5(36) of the Apex Professional University Act, 2012 (No. 07 of 2013), without having pursued the prescribed regular course of study in the University or in one of the Institutions admitted to the privileges of the university provided they are otherwise eligible for admission under the Regulation;

The University has taken consent from the University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi for registration of private (external) students in accordance with University Act, Statutes and Regulations. The University has also taken consent from Distance Education Bureau (DEB) for registration of private (external) students.

The main advantage of Private Students Registration is the convenience it offers. You can learn at your own pace and at a time that suits you. If you have employment, family or other commitments, distance learning gives you the flexibility to schedule your study pattern around these obligations, providing a world-class education tailored to your lifestyle. You don’t need to attend lectures on campus, so there are no accommodation or transport costs, and you don‘t require a student visa.

Our online courses deliver internationally recognised qualifications, from postgraduate certificates and diplomas to master’s in law, science and art. When you enrol as a Private Student at APU, you join the APU alumni in the same way as our on-campus students

All Faculties of the Apex Professional University offer Private Students Registration. You can earn a postgraduate certificate or diploma, or study for your master’s in a range of disciplines, including the arts, science, law, paramedical and management.

There is no such thing as a typical Private Students Registration: this form of study suits people with very varied circumstances, including:

professionals wishing to improve their career prospects
individuals wishing to re-educate for a change in career
those wishing to undertake higher education for the first time
people undertaking courses for personal interest
students who need a flexible study option due to family or work commitments
individuals who are geographically mobile (eg the armed forces)
people with learning difficulties and disabilities
those living in geographically remote areas

Our degrees are developed and assessed by the concerned school of the university. This means that the degree you earn is of the same standard as those achieved on-campus in Pasighat. Our courses are assessed in different ways. But if you do need to sit exams, you can do so at one of over 100 exam centres based all over the world. When you complete your degree, you’ll have the opportunity to attend one of our graduation ceremonies in Pasighat. These are held in October each year
