North East Scholarship Scheme

Apex Foundation constantly endeavors to provide opportunities for education to those who need them the most. Professional education is the need of the hour, especially for the children of North East region and in order to gain career competencies, the North East Scholarship Scheme would serve as a helping hand that leads to remunerative placement with a high selfesteem in the society.

The North East Scholarship Scheme has been initiated to encourage the talents of such students, thereby strengthening the roots of our future generation, which is a small step towards achieving the collective goal of making India the knowledge superpower of the world. Scholarship can be availed in all the Program of the University, ranging from Diploma to Ph.D. recognized by the UGC, BCI, PCI and NCTE, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The amount of scholarship will be on the percentage of the prescribed fee and is delivered on a first come first serve basis. The granting of scholarship is also based on the performance of the student in qualifying examination, Entrance Test (like STaRT, JEE (Mains), NEET, UCEED, CAT, CLAT, MAT, GATE, GPAT, NATA, JRF, NET etc.) followed by Personal Interview.

External Scholarship

In order to fund your studies, you will need to undertake careful research – the options available to you will differ, depending on your domicile.

For Arunachal Pradesh Students: APST Stipend Scheme provides financial assistance to the scheduled tribe (APST) students of Arunachal Pradesh., so as to enable them to pursue various courses in Higher Education approved by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

For other State Students: The Post Matric Scholarship scheme is a Centrally Sponsored scheme implemented by State Government and Union Territory Administrations. 100% Central assistance over and above the committed liability of the States Government / UTs Admin from the Government of India. The State Government and UT admin to which the applicant belongs awards the scholarship.

For International Students: Study in India, with the help of the following Indian ministries – the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is offering 2000 scholarships worth USD3500 each, for the academic year.

DIAMOND STAR SCHEME:
Students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, after applying in any of 27 approved programs, are eligible to submit an application for North East scholarship, up to ₹3,00,000/- towards tuition fees concession. A total of 108 Scholarships will be granted for 27 programmes with 4 eligible candidates from each programme.

PLATINUM STAR SCHEME:
Students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, after applying in any of 27 approvedprograms, are eligible to submit an application for North East scholarship, up to ₹2,00,000/- towards tuition fees concession. A total of 108 Scholarshipswill be granted for 27 programmes with 4 eligible candidates from each programme.

GOLD STAR SCHEME:
Students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura, after applying in any of 27 approved programs, are eligible to submit an application for North East scholarship, up to ₹1,00,000/- towards tuition fees concession. A total of 108 Scholarships will be granted for 27 programmes with 4 eligible candidates from each programme

SILVER STAR SCHEME:
Minority and APST Students, after applying in any of 27 approved programs, are eligible to submit an application for North East scholarship, up to ₹50,000/- towards tuition fees concession on the
recommendation of Hon’ble Chancellor. A total of 243 Scholarships will be granted for 27 programmes with 9 eligible candidates from each programme, subject to availabilityofthe seats

How To Apply

You must submit your application through Online or Offline for Scholarship & Talent Reward Entrance Test (STaRT) along with fee of Rs. 100/-. Your scholarship eligibility will be assessed on a case to case basis and you will be intimated if you are selected. You will be granted the appropriate scholarship amount once your application meets the laid down eligibility criteria prescribed in the University website.

Scholarship Phases

Admission process in APU is carried out in different Phases, which are the segments of Admission time duration. The amount of Scholarship depends on the Phase in which the candidate applies and/or takes Admission in theUniversity. Admissionwill start as early as January and continues till 30th June. The amount of scholarship reduces with each passing phase.

Eligibility Criteria

Their normal residence is in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
As part of your application, you will be required to answer the following questions with a maximum of 200 words each:

  • What are your reasons for wanting to study at Apex Professional University, on your chosen program of study?
  • Describe a significant achievement in your student life and explain the impact it had on other people or the organisation. How would you help spread the information about Apex Professional University as a study destination?
  • Describe your career objectives beyond the program you have applied to, indicating the type of role you would like to occupy in five years’ time and how the program you are interested in studying can help you in achieving these objectives.

Percentage requirement in Qualifying Exam:Candidate should possess a

  • Minimum of 90% in the qualifying exam for availing Diamond Star Scheme
  • Minimum of 80% in the qualifying exam for availing Platinum Star Scheme
  • Minimum of 65% in the qualifying exam for availing Gold Star Scheme
  • Minimum 45% in the qualifying exam for availing Silver Star Scheme

Percentage requirement in Scholarship & Talent Reward Entrance Test (STaRT): Candidate should possess a

  • Minimum 90% in the Entrance Test for Diamond Star Scheme
  • Minimum 80% in the Entrance Test for Platinum Star Scheme
  • Minimum 70% in the Entrance Test for Gold Star Scheme
  • Minimum 60% in the Entrance Test for Silver Star Scheme

The Scholarship committee reserve the right to review, modify or cancel the awarded scholarship on any given circumstances as notified by the University at any stage of the process.

Qus: Terms & Conditions for Scholarship
Ans:

  • The details of Scholarship offered will be part of the Admission Offer extended to candidates upon selection.
  • The table above is only to represent Scholarships in case a candidate is selected. For selection, University shall follow the announced process.
  • All the Scholarships awarded will be for a specific year only and for subsequent years, it may continue / discontinue based on performance of the student in qualifying year and Scholarship policy applicable from time to time.
  • In aggregate percentage Physical Education / Fine Arts / Performing Arts / vocational / non-written subjects will not be considered.
  • Candidates must enroll for the program by depositing the advance fee by the given due date in the admission offer letter. Should a candidate fail to do so, candidate shall have no claim over the scholarship. The Scholarship thereafter, shall be passed on to the next eligible candidate.
  • 85% attendance and Academic performance of a student shall be the sole criteria for continuation of the scholarship. Scholarships starting from the highest slab shall be granted based on the position in merit list prepared course wise.
  • If the student loses the Scholarship, for any reason like discipline, Backlog or obtaining a CGPA below 8, the same will not be restored in subsequent years and the student will be required to pay full fees from the semester that the scholarship is withdrawn.
  • Maximum one Scholarship can be availed by the students whichever is higher.
  • Scholarship would not apply if there is a gap between academic sessions.
  • In B.Sc. Nursing, B.Pharm & B.Ed –  5% Seats are under Scholarship Scheme.
  • Scholarship will be awarded on Tuition Fee only. Any amount of scholarship will not be paid in cash.

Qus:Scholarship for Defence & their dependents.
Ans:With a view to facilitate access to higher education, APU is providing the following scholarships to encourage our dedicated soldiers in the Defence and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and their dependents. The services that have been included are- Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), National Security Guards (NSG), Special Frontier Force (SFF), Assam Rifles, Border Road Organization, General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Military Engineers Service (MES), Defence Security Corps (DSC), Ordnance Factory Board.

Qus:Scholarship Orphan Applicants
Ans:Terms and Conditions for Scholarship for Orphan Applicants:

  • Definition for purpose of admissibility of this scholarship
    • Orphan is a child whose both parents are dead or he/she is an abandoned child.
    • Guardian is someone who is legally appointed to look after the affairs of a young person(s) because their parents are dead.
  • For availing scholarship under this policy student need to submit following documents
    • Death certificate of both the parents
    • Income certificate (Guardian/Self-if employed)
    • Certificate from government approved orphanage, or Affidavit from Executive Magistrate or officer at higher rank in case the applicant is not living in a government approved orphanage.
  • The candidate is not legally adopted by any individual or couple.
  • Scholarship as stated above is subject to verification and authentication of the information, certificates and other documents as required by the University.
  • The student has to fulfill eligibility criteria and has to follow the admission process as mentioned in the university prospectus or website.

Qus:External Scholarships
Ans:APST STIPEND SCHEME
APST Stipend Scheme provides financial assistance to the schedule tribe students of Arunachal Pradesh., so as to enable them to pursue various courses in Higher Education approved by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh subject to the following conditions:

  • Prerequisites for the grant of Stipend: Satisfactory Progress, Regular Attendance and Good Conduct are the mandatory pre-requisites for the grant of stipend 
  • The Stipends will not be issued to the Students: Who are found guilty of misconduct / participate in strike / irregularity in attendance / commit offences /break University and hostel discipline. 

Note: Stipend is issued by Directorate of Higher & Technical Education Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. The University Management will not entertain the queries related to irregularities or non-receipt of Stipend under any circumstances.

POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The Post Matric Scholarship scheme is a Centrally Sponsored scheme implemented by State Government and Union Territory Administrations. 100% Central assistance over and above the committed liability of the States Government / UTs Admin from the Government of India. The State Government and UT admin to which the applicant belongs awards the scholarship.
Eligibility:

  • Scholarships are paid to students whose parents / guardians’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.
  • The Scholarships are available for the study of all recognized post matriculation or post-secondary courses. 
  • The scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship / stipend.

Note: Post Matric Scholarship is issued by the Govt. of India through Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. The University Management will not entertain the queries related to irregularities or non-receipt of Post Matric Scholarship under any circumstances.
