UGC stands for University Grants Commission is a statutory organization in India. UGC was set up by the Union of Government In 1956. UGC has power and holds the authority to approve the universities in India. Before providing authority for the university, UGC team checked university educational standards.
UGC offices are placed in 7 different states at Hyderabad, Pune, Bhopal, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata and Bangalore.
Significance of UGC approved universities
UGC recognized universities come in the list of most trusted universities of education in india. After taking a degree from these universities that means all degrees are authentic and are accepted by all organizations in India and students can apply anywhere in India and foreign for job purposes and other many required areas i.e anywhere these are acceptable.

But those universities follow UGC rules as universities should be under the list of top 500 global universities. If universities are following these rules then they can operate universities in India.
