The Faculty of Education and Information Science, Apex Professional University, Pasighat, organized an Online International Webinar titled “STEAM Education as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development” on 18th March 2026 in hybrid mode. The event aimed to explore the role of STEAM education in achieving sustainable development goals, promoting interdisciplinary learning, and encouraging innovation and research aligned with global sustainability frameworks.
The webinar commenced at 11:30 AM with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an inaugural address by Dr. Annu Devi Angonjam, who highlighted the significance of interdisciplinary approaches. Prof. Mousumi Chaudhuri, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to foster creativity and address real-world challenges sustainably.
The expert session was conducted by Dr. Goutam Roy, Lecturer at Charles Sturt University, Australia, who discussed the transformative potential of STEAM education in promoting innovation and sustainable practices. The webinar witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and researchers, with attendees from various states across India.
The programme also included a paper presentation session chaired by distinguished academicians, where participants presented research on topics related to education, sustainability, healthcare, and technology. The session encouraged academic interaction and constructive feedback, enhancing the quality of research contributions.
