R & D Cell
The Research and Development (R&D) Cell of the APU is a dedicated body responsible for promoting, coordinating, and overseeing all research and innovation-related activities within the institution
It acts as a central hub for cultivating a strong research culture, fostering academic and industry collaborations, supporting faculty and student research initiatives, and enhancing the university’s contribution to knowledge creation and societal development.
Objectives of the R&D Cell
Promote a Research Culture:
- Encourage faculty, students, and staff to engage in quality research across disciplines.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and conferences to build research capacity.
Facilitate Research Funding:
- Identify and disseminate funding opportunities from government, industry, and international bodies.
- Support proposal writing and grant application processes.
Enhance Research Quality:
- Promote publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
- Establish ethical standards and peer-review processes.
Foster Innovation and Patents:
- Guide innovators in filing patents, copyrights, and technology transfers.
- Set up incubation centers or tie-ups with innovation hubs.
Build Academic and Industry Collaboration:
- Create partnerships with national and international universities, research institutes, and industries.
- Facilitate collaborative projects, internships, and consultancy services.
Support Postgraduate and Doctoral Research:
- Provide guidance and infrastructure for M.Phil./Ph.D. scholars.
- Organize research methodology courses and colloquiums.
Structure & Functioning
The R&D Cell of APU is governed by a Director of Research, supported by a Research Advisory Committee and departmental coordinators. Its responsibilities include:
- Formulating research policies and guidelines.
- Approving research projects and proposals.
- Coordinating with ethics committees for compliance.
- Maintaining a database of research outputs and achievements.
- Ensuring timely reporting to funding agencies.
