The Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) is aimed to encourage and facilitating young scholars who have completed their Ph.D. and wish to pursue a regular career in teaching and research. They should have a high potential and promise for conducting full-time research on specific themes and issues. Such researchers are expected to conduct research in frontier areas of science, engineering, management, humanities, social sciences and law. The mentor will guide the fellows, providing them with a platform to grow into independent researchers.
Upon successful completion of the fellowship, participants will be conferred a D.Sc., D.Litt., or LL.D. that acknowledges their dedication to academic excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration. This postdoctoral degree serves as a testament to their achievements and signifies their active engagement in advancing knowledge and fostering scholarly discourse within the academic community.
The Post-Doctoral Research Advisory Committee (PDRAC) will review and assess the submitted proposal for the candidacy. Based on the recommendations of the PDRAC, the candidate will be invited to present their proposal before the committee for consideration as a candidate for the postdoctoral fellowship/degree. If the candidate is unable to attend the presentation in person, alternative online evaluation methods may be used.
Upon approval of the proposal, the candidate will be eligible to register for the postdoctoral fellowship/degree program. To complete the registration process, the candidate must submit the required fees.
Allocation of Supervisor
As such, no supervisor will be given to a postdoctoral candidate, but if a candidate asks for a supervisor, a doctorate faculty member can be allotted to the candidate for the administrative help.
- A candidate must have obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Postgraduate Medical Degree (M.D./M.S.) from this university or any University recognised by UGC or Foreign University recognised by AIU in the relevant disciplines and
- Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of post-Ph.D. experience and must have published at least 10 research papers as the first or corresponding author in reputed journals indexed in Web of Science (WoS) or Scopus. The overall H-index of the candidate should be more than 10, as per the Scopus database. OR
- The candidate must have at least two years of post-Ph.D. experience and should have successfully secured two granted patents, including one international patent.e international patent.
The requirement for the number of research papers may be relaxed if the researcher has published at least two (2) books, one (1) patent, or received two (2) recommendations/referrals from nationally or internationally recognised experts in the relevant field, indicating that their research efforts have made distinct contributions to society and the advancement of knowledge.
The fellowship is a temporary assignment for a maximum of two years, with a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 and an annual contingency grant of ₹50,000. The contingency grant must be utilized with prior approval from the Vice-Chancellor, following a 40:60 ratio—40% for consumables (e.g., stationery, chemicals, conference registrations, travel) and 60% for non-consumables (e.g., books, journals, minor equipment). All non-consumable items purchased under the grant will become the university's property upon fellowship completion. The fellowship does not include manpower support, though candidates may receive additional project funding from external agencies. The university may assign Fellows up to 12 hours per week for teaching or related tasks. If the Fellow’s research progress is found unsatisfactory or in case of misconduct, the university reserves the right to discontinue the fellowship.

Fellowship and Leave Rules

Leave Policy
The Post Doctoral Fellow is allowed a maximum of 12 days of emergency leave per year with approval and up to 15 days for official duties; no vacation is permitted, and unauthorized absence will be treated as misconduct with fellowship deductions.

Completion of Fellowship
Upon completion, the scholar must submit a publishable thesis, synopsis, and research papers in hard and soft copies, along with account settlement and library clearance; a maximum of three months is allowed for final submission.

Mandatory Outcome
The candidate must submit a soft copy of the Ph.D. thesis, five relevant research papers, a published book or granted patent, and other published works; thesis submission is allowed upon completion of these requirements.

Interested scholars must submit the enrolment form; shortlisted candidates will undergo further evaluation through virtual interviews and an assessment test.

UPLOAD DOCUMENTS
Applicants must appear for the National Level Entrance Test (TREAT). UGC NET qualified candidates are exempted.

RESEARCH PROPOSAL
The applicant submits a research proposal, along with copies of publications, patents, and books.

FINAL SELECTION
The university will evaluate the proposal and invite the candidate for a presentation, either in person or online.
